That’s why seeing steady growth like this at our planting sites means a lot. Slow progress, but real impact.

Here, one of our planters is using a unique method that works exclusively with mangroves: direct propagule planting.

The seedlings she holds are young propagules collected from mature mangrove trees, ready to be planted directly into the coastal soil to take root and thrive.

Part of the process involves collecting seedlings from pre-existing mangrove trees, ensuring we select the healthiest ones to maximize survival rates.

Even though our work is challenging—trekking through muddy areas to plant mangrove seedlings—we put in the effort to ensure they thrive. It’s tough, but seeing these trees grow strong and healthy makes it all worthwhile.
