Mhh all my nice emojis are gone ....
I will join in, but my decorations won't be up yet on the 1st of December ☃️🎄✨
We will do the same thing we have done for the last few years - decorate some willow branches instead if buying a Christmas tree. It works quite well I think, and is much better for the environment (and saves lots of money). And have lots of little lights, as it gets very dark here.
Dear Roxanne,
I have not bought a tree for the last twenty years. I checked out renting a tree, but even a small tree costs about 150 Euro because they bring it and pick it up again. I love the idea, but it's too expensive. So I have to find another solution. Maybe because it's my last Christmas in Switzerland I will buy myself a little tree in a pot.
Hello wonderful people,
So lovely that you are happy to join in this bit of fun.
It's been a difficult time for a lot of people, my own story is of a lot of loss, so now I do exactly what I want and when I want to do it....life is too short.
My decorations went up last Tuesday in my house, it warms my heart and brings me joy.
Petra, do what is good for you, stringing lights around plants is very effective I've found.
If you go out for a walk, you could gather some long sturdy twigs, pop them in a vase and string lights around them instead of a tree? You could even string baubles on them? Collect pine cones and display in a bowl? Xx
Already ready 😀😀😀so great 👏
I will check what I will find, I have a small living room, but because I had no Christmas tree for so long, I would like to have one this year, but I am open to all your ideas 😘🎅🌲🧑🏼🎄🤶
Mine is a thin pencil artificial tree that I have had for about 20 years and I cram as many decorations on it as I can. Extra lights too. 🎄🎅
So we are getting different here 😀 I am not a fan of artificial trees, but I saw some wooden constructions that look like trees. They are a bit expensive, but yes, they will last a lifetime. Maybe I will get one when I am back in Germany. Here in Switzerland, everything is a bit more expensive.
We will see what the future next year will bring 😀😀
I am curious to see your picture 😀🎄🎅
Dear Petra did I miss on something? What do you mean by saying „Maybe because it's my last Christmas in Switzerland“?!
My personal life and my health are in shambles at the moment. I had such lovely decorating plans, but for now, sad as it is, I don't have the energy or joy for Christmas. So I've decided to just let this time pass... I might post a picture from last year.
… as said: better days will come. 🌟🌟🌟
Marie-Josée it will be lovely to see a past photo of your Christmas decorations.
Please look after your mental and well being..... sending you a virtual hug xx 🤗
Another virtual hug coming your way Marie-Josée. Hope better days are not too far away. Take care
Dearest Marie Josée,
I really hope you will get well as soon as possible and sending you healing energy 🥰 I will go back, with a crying and a smiling eye after 16 years to my home country Germany next August. I can not stay in Basel, I can not afford the my retirement, it will be to expensive, so I have to move back, but maybe it’s a good thing, we will see 🙂
