Climate Smart Forests Transylvania, Rumania

We are restoring the wind-damaged forests of Transylvania to increase their resilience against the impacts of climate change. The disruption of conditions that forests have adapted to over centuries has left them vulnerable and prone to further deterioration. By reintroducing oak species and replanting with native trees, we aim to strengthen these forests to withstand future changes and conserve the natural habitat of many local animals.

Scientifically based ecosystem restoration.

I am writing this letter in enthusiastic support of the tree planting projects carried out by the Transylmagica that aims to make a significant contribution to scientifically based ecosystem restoration.
Having worked in the field of forestry for Romsilva – National Forest Administration, as well as in forestry higher education I am confident in recommending their project aimed to reintroduce the oak species into the Ciuc Basin of the Eastern Carpathians.
This project is particularly noteworthy due to its long-term vision. The selected tree species align perfectly with the region's native flora. Moreover, they demonstrate commitment to ensuring the project's lasting impact.
The positive effects of this tree planting project will undoubtedly extend beyond the immediate vicinity, inspiring others to engage in similar initiatives and fostering a culture of environmental responsibility.
In conclusion, I wholeheartedly endorse the tree planting projects of the Transylmagica and believe it has the potential to serve as a remarkable model for community-driven environmental conservation.

Project enhancing the ecological resilience of the forests in the Hasmas Mountain.

As the director of the Cheile Bicazului-Hășmaș National Park I provide my recommendation for efforts of the Transylmagica team in their project to replace wind-damaged spruce forests with diverse mixed forests within the bounds of the park. This initiative aligns perfectly with our conservation goals, as it is destined to enhance the ecological resilience of the forests in the Hasmas Mountain.
I have witnessed firsthand the dedication and expertise that the Transylmagica team bring to this project. The decision to transition from monoculture spruce forests to mixed forests reflects a profound understanding of the intricate relationships within ecosystems and the pressing need to adapt to a changing climate.
Their project has the potential to serve as an inspiring model for adaptive conservation.
