Save the Aberdare Forest

A miracle in the catchments as previously degraded lands are turning into productive lands with coffee and Avocados. Lands are being restored and the economy of the people enhanced.

It's flowering time for the Avocado trees. This means it's time for pollinators to do what they know best. These are the wonders of Nature.

It's harvest time. The first Cohort of farmers who planted Avocados are now harvesting fruits and making money. With this income, our forests are safe since no farmer will go to cut down trees in the forest for economic gain.An economically empowered community will guard our forests

Participatory monitoring is key in our work. We visit farmers to monitor how the trees are growing.

Terracing in coffee plantations is meant to arrest soil erosion in steep sites and conserve soil moisture. Farmers engage communal Labour in digging the terraces thus enhancing unity and inclusion in the community.

Planting trees along the banks of rivers within our catchment will prevent erosion and restore the degraded lands. The rains are here with us and planting continues.
