Hi Adam, I´m the regional project manager for the Africa region. For me visiting our projects is an adventure every time I travel to remote areas, far from the city’s hustle. These trips have no reliable internet or urban luxuries, but they offer a unique cultural experience.
My recent visits to Senegal and Uganda were challenging. Unpaved roads, potholes, and vehicle breakdowns were common. Sometimes, we reach our destination late at night or spend an extra night on the road. Upon arrival, I was warmly welcomed by the dedicated project planters. They are curious about my background, and we engage in a cultural exchange. They take pride in showing me their work. There is always a lot to learn from these visits. The project staff is also enthusiastic, and eager to share their successes and challenges. It’s a close-knit community, and I’m grateful to be part of these journeys filled with surprises, cultural exchange, and plenty of enthusiasm.
Hi. This is a pop-up as I thought the topic interesting :-) . I don’t travel a lot but trips to Spain - Jerez - in September and Koh Samui, Thailand in January 2026 are planned. I often ask friends to go visit « my » trees around the world but none of them could make it yet. Maybe a friend who’s currently in Uganda. How about any of you?
