The Peacock Tree Frog, also called Leptopelis vermiculatus or Amani Forest Treefrog, is a fascinating animal from Tanzania's thick forests. When it's green, its skin is bright green with black spots, and its sides have pretty black-and-white patterns. Its skin turns brown with dark spots and lines in its brown phase. This colour change makes it even more interesting and worth studying.These frogs like living in wet rainforests with lots of trees, especially between 900 to 1800 meters above sea level. They are used to these specific conditions in their habitat. When it's time to mate, male peacock tree Frogs become territorial and make distinct sounds in the water. They use these sounds to attract females with a nice "ga...ga...ga" and warn other males with a sharp "rrrrrrrr-ga." These behaviours help keep the balance in their forest homes.Sadly, the Peacock Tree Frog faces big problems because humans are destroying their homes for things like farming. This has made them endangered, with fewer of them left and not enough safe places for them to live.
