Local farmers are adopting conservation farming techniques, using smart land preparation and hole planting to optimize water retention for crops. These sustainable practices lead to better harvests, especially in dry conditions, without relying on chemical fertilizers.

In preparation for the next planting season in 2024 and in order to kick off the planting of additional mixed groves, these farmers in Uganda have started to raise seedlings early!

Farmers select resilient species for dry areas, often indigenous ones like Melia and Acacia seyal, ensuring robust growth and survival in challenging conditions.
