Sacred Seeds Garden

This week our native trees are being loaded onto the tractor ready to head out to the Sacred Seeds garden.

The baby seedlings of the Mauritia flexuosa (Moriche Palm) are being readied to go into the Sacred seeds garden.

The Moriche palm seedlings need slow introduction to the sun and hence is placed under the Aceite tree that is providing partial shade and some sun exposure. In nature

Pedregoza translates to mean literally the rocky place and the soils around Pedregoza where the sacred seeds project is located are indeed justly named as they are typically rocky, highly acidic and of poor nutrient quality.
