Dora is restoring a parcel of degraded land on her farm in Nicaragua. She planted seedlings last year, and the local team has been supporting her to maximize early-stage tree growth.

The CommuniTree Carbon Program in Nicaragua is only possible thanks to APRODEIN, a local team of agroforestry experts. They support farmers throughout the entire lifecycle of the project, helping them to improve their livelihoods by growing trees.

A testament to the power of forest restoration! In 2022, Pedro Antonio Valdivia Lanzas began growing trees on this under-utilized patch of land. Just two years in and already it's a stark contrast to the degraded agricultural land next door.

Duglas Arnulfo Reyes Valdivia has been growing trees through the CommuniTree Carbon Program for 13 years! Duglus lives in the San Juan de Limay region of Nicaragua. To date, he has received more than $1,400 in payments for ecosystem services.

The team in Nicaragua regularly encounters local fauna while visiting farmers' parcels. We love to see what wildlife call the forests home, and to remind ourselves of why we do what we do - for the preservation and appreciation of our planet's wonders.

CommuniTree's focus over the past three months has been all about recruitment and preparing for the 2024 planting season!

The local team has been busy recruiting farmers to the program and helping them to establish nurseries.

Part of our team getting each seed planted on each pot. In a few months they will turn in to seedlings ready to be distributed to our fellow farmers that participate in our program.

Nurseries is where the process starts. Each seedling is well taken care of by our team, the guarantee the best trees for the farmers that will plant them during the next planting season.

As we continue our reforestation efforts, its always nice to look back and see the results, watching how older trees continue to grow tall.

This is one of thousands of families that have benefited from our program. By planting trees, they can generate sources of income that support their families directly from home, while creating a suitable balance with nature.
