Lost Forests Recovery in California

Lost Forests Recovery in California, États-Unis

Our project focuses on restoring forests lost to recent wildfires in California. Wildfires are becoming more frequent and severe due to climate change, with rising temperatures and prolonged droughts following historically low rainfall. By replanting native trees and rehabilitating damaged ecosystems, we help these forests recover and build resilience against future wildfires.

Angeles National Forest provides water for nearly 4 million LA residents and is home to rare species like the Bigcone Douglas-fir. But repeated wildfires have put both at risk.

Reforesting with native trees helps stabilize the land, protect water sources, and rebuild resilience

The careful selection of tree species is crucial for building resilient forests. Native and adaptive species thrive in their environment, restoring soil health, retaining moisture, and supporting biodiversity.

By choosing the right trees, we create stronger ecosystems that withstand

Did you know that reforesting areas hit by wildfires can actually help prevent future fires? We’re working to restore forests in California’s most vulnerable regions. By planting trees in fire-prone areas, we’re not just helping the land recover—we’re also creating natural barriers

In fire-prone ecosystems, certain species actually thrive and depend on periodic fires for regeneration. Land restoration efforts focus on these fire-adapted species, ensuring that forests not only recover but are also prepared for future wildfires. This ecological strategy enhances
