COMMUNITY

We work in deep collaboration with our partners, prioritising local leadership, trust and long-term care. Restoration must honour the choices and voices of communities, fostering agency, connection and collective healing.

WOMEN

We champion women as vital leaders in climate action and ecological restoration. Our projects support women with resources, training and spaces to grow their skills, protect their rights and lead community-driven change.

RESTORE & REFOREST

Our projects restore some of the mountain's most biodiverse regions by working directly with communities to lead the restoration of their lands. We build trust, collaborate closely, and prioritise community perspectives, self-determination, and agency

For our New Tree Nurseries Expansion, Friends of Usambara Society works with local communities in places where, together, we can make the fastest, most lasting impact for communities and the future of our planet. Together we can make the planet best for every one of us
