Tree planting is important but first you need to propagate the seedlings and this is what these women do so well. They nurture millions of these lovely, carbon ravenous tree babies until they are ready to be planted out, and they seem to be pretty happy in their work!

No solution to climate breakdown is possible without the involvement of women like these as in tropical African communities it is the women such as these from Boré who do most of the agricultural work and therefore the critically important carbon drawdown tree planting.

When we wait for the rains to come then sometimes the seedlings need a bit of irrigation to keep them from getting thirsty. Lois shows how one woman can carry 10 jerry cans from the planting site back to the watersource for refilling. Well done Lois!
