Our project restores key areas like old service roads and weedy reserves to increase habitat for wildlife such as Southern Cassowaries and Bennetts Tree-kangaroos. We select sites based on access, community input, and their potential for creating wildlife corridors. Our goal is to plant 500,000 indigenous trees by 2030, with nearly 27,000 already planted since 2018 to help regenerate the Daintree Rainforest.

Short drone-shot video of planting 548 trees to complete the revegetation of an old unused service road in Cow Bay in the heart of the Daintree. 70 of these trees were generously donated by Tree-nation supporters. Thank you everyone.

FEATURED TREE
This is a fruiting Bandicoot Berry (Leea novoguineensis) that we planted around 3 years ago. Once at this stage, it fruits all year round, and the prolific fruit feeds so many rainforest birds. Before that, honeyeaters, sunbirds and native bees all continually feed

This lovely family planted 50 more trees with us, and afterwards, we took them nearby to see this giant Small-leafed fig (Ficus oliqua). From little saplings, big trees grow.

Ripening now in the Daintree rainforest - this is Orange Jacket (Xylopia maccreae). The orange capsules split open nearly inside out to reveal these black and grey seeds. We have collected heaps to grow in our nursery. You can help us to plant these and many more species here on

Photographed this morning and featured in our plantings: the beautiful ripening fruit of Orange Jacket (Xylopia maccreae). This small tree grows in well-developed rainforest between Cooktown and Townsville, and when ripe, the fruits split open to reveal multiple grey and black seeds
