Replanting the burnt Mkussu Forest

It’s planting season in Tanzania and the the tree planting team's readiness to start planting mangroves is at its fullest. 🌱

But this year is different. El Niño is bringing rain early, so distribution had to start a month and a half sooner than usual, which means less time to grow

This is Rauvolfia caffra among the native tree species that we planted along the Soni-Mombo River within Pangani River Basin. These trees were planted a year ago and this is the status of the growth of such a tree.

Measurements are sources of planning and decision making.In our monitoring and evaluation visits to our project sites,we measure tree healthy, length and count survival rate and decide on how many trees 🌳 shall be replaced in the next planting season.
