Still being used a lot in our forests. The "Ardennes" workhorse was named after the Ardennes, which is heavily forested rugged region in the South of Belgium (and parts of it across the border). It is one of Europe's oldest surviving cold-blooded draft breeds. Built low to the ground and heavily muscled, it is prized for its endurance on rough terrain and used in forestry and eco-farming.
