AGRO RANGERS, an NGO based in Maharashtra, India, is dedicated to positively impacting rural communities and the environment through sustainable agroforestry practices. In partnership with Tree Nation, AGRO RANGERS is helping small and marginal farmers improve their livelihoods and restore soil health by introducing regenerative tree plantation techniques. Our project is about planting trees, building resilient ecosystems, and empowering farmers with sustainable agricultural practices that address climate change at the grassroots level.
Project Goals
1) Climate Resilience: By increasing tree cover, our project contributes to carbon sequestration and combats soil degradation, creating a healthier ecosystem.
2) Enhanced Livelihoods: We equip farmers with tools and knowledge to generate additional income from tree-based products, such as fruit, fodder, and timber.
3) Soil Health Improvement: Through agroforestry, we improve soil fertility, moisture retention, and biodiversity, supporting the growth of healthier crops.
4) Community Empowerment: Training and education are at the heart of our project, empowering farmers to adopt sustainable practices and build climate resilience for future generations.
Project Activities
1) Tree Plantation: We plant native, drought-resistant, and economically beneficial tree species on small farms, transforming barren lands into vibrant agroforestry systems.
2) Farmer Training & Support: We conduct hands-on workshops and provide continuous support to farmers, enabling them to adopt and sustain eco-friendly practices.
3) Soil and Water Conservation: By integrating soil health management and water-saving techniques, we ensure that farms remain productive and environmentally friendly.
4) Impact Monitoring: We regularly assess tree health, soil quality, and farm productivity, working with farmers to achieve lasting results.
