Great to host 20 people from the Sierra Club (USA) to plant another 150 trees at the Bells Road, Newell site in tropical far North Queensland yesterday.

Our next area for Tree-nation planting of 400 trees at the Bells Road, Newell site in far North Queensland, Australia. We are looking forward to turning this from weed grasses back to native forest.

One of the species that will benefit from our planting is the Papuan Frogmouth (Podargus papuensis) found in forested areas throughout tropical Northern Australia and New Guinea. We photographed this one recently.

Preparing land for two school plantings at the Bells Road, Newell project, and a huge thank you to the landowners for the initial slashing. This will be another 300 trees going in, and first planting this year after a very long wet season.

One of the species we regularly plant on all our sites is the Drupe Fig (Ficus drupacea). A large spreading tree with bright orange fruit which turns nearly black when ripe, and eaten by Cassowaries, Rainforest Doves and Tube-nosed bats.
