A bit further down the road we have a reserve military airfield in the middle of a forest. It is not permanently used by the military and as such most of the year the airfield is simply left for use by the local wildlife. Occasionally, a quite modest aeroclub is also using it. Annually, there is also a vintage aircraft fly-in weekend attracting old aircraft from all over Europe and beyond.
Growing up in both Indiana and Arizona I learned how to have a green thumb for many reasons. I've planted many willow species throughout those 2 states but have traveled all over the US and some of the EU and UK so planting more trees anywhere in the world gives me a reason to visit that specific area!
