Preparing Our Young Trees for Winter

0

Over the past few days, we’ve been carrying out late-autumn maintenance and monitoring at our planting sites, with work set to continue in some areas over the coming days.

Where needed—including overgrown patches of the Tree-Nation Bear Grove, planted in spring 2026 in the Hășmaș Mountains of the Eastern Carpathians—we’ve cut back the dry grasses and other herbaceous vegetation around the saplings. We’ve also applied a deer repellent to help protect the young trees’ tender leading buds from browsing roe deer and red deer throughout the winter.
