Baby bat season is here. Meet little Toby Bear - an orphaned 4-week-old endangered Spectacled Flying-fox pup, who was found crawling on the road at Cooya Beach on Wednesday. Rescued and stabilised by local carers, he now joins two others in our care, and is feeding really well. So

Agroforestry systems help restore the natural water cycle by increasing rainwater infiltration, reducing soil erosion, and improving the soil’s ability to retain moisture. Their roots create pathways for water to reach underground aquifers
For each project we implement,we make sure that we do a clear discussion with all stake holders before the project has started.
For instance our close stakeholders of the restoration projects we do are the specific government sectoral agencies, local government authorities, the community
Planting preparations begin by ensuring that sufficient planting materials are available and ready. In most cases, a full day is dedicated to this activity.
What comes to mind when you see these small seedlings thriving in the Mida Creek mudflats?
For us at COBEC, it is a testament to three things: Community resilience, ecosystem recovery, and partnership impact.
Yesterday in Mida Creek, we successfully planted young mangrove seedlings.
With the ground fully prepared, our team is now actively planting young saplings into the newly structured rows. Planting on degraded land takes dedication, but every single sapling placed in the soil is a vital step toward bringing this forest
Establishing agroforestry systems requires meticulous care on the ground. Each sapling is carefully staked and fitted with protective shelters to defend against browsing wildlife and severe weather while it develops strong roots.
To protect nature, we first need to get to know it and learn to value it.
We spent time with the children at the local primary school during an environmental education activity, where we planted chilto trees that they’ll now care for and observe as they grow.
Since launching Agroforestry Seeds, we have restored school grounds through four stages. We began by planting living fences around each school, followed by small fruit orchards where children learn to care for trees. Later, we created
🌱 Every young tree that grows is an opportunity for life to find its way back. Restoration is not just about planting trees; it’s about rebuilding the connections between soil, water, biodiversity, and people. It’s a journey of patience, knowledge, and commitment to the ecosystems
