🌱 Expanding Tree Growing in Bukedea

With support from Tree Nation, we held an engagement at the Adodoi Nursery Site in Bukedea District to officially open up an additional nursery that will strengthen our tree-growing efforts in the region.

Community engagements remain a key pillar in addressing climate change and promoting sustainable tree planting initiatives. Through continuous awareness meetings, trainings, and collaborative activities, we empower local communities to take an active role in environmental conservation.

Women at the forefront! Community nurseries managed by women are driving the Preservation of Mt. Elgon Ecosystem Project — growing both trees and equality in the Mt. Elgon restoration project

During a recent trip to Uganda, we encountered this woman who, like many others, takes the lead in planting and proudly showcases the trees she nurtures on her farm. She is especially delighted with her Grevillea robusta tree.

Out of our 24 community tree nursery sites, 13 are women-led, representing 54% of the total. Supporting women in leadership positions is crucial to building a more sustainable and equitable future.hashtag#WomensDay2025

Strengthening Community-led Action through Cluster Level Associations (CLA)

We believe that sustainable tree growing thrives on strong community structures. That's why with support from WCVA | CGGC and Size of Wales I Maint Cymru , we are introducing the Cluster Level Association

Thanks to support from Tree Nation, we have made a significant impact by extending access to clean water in water-stressed areas like Kocheka Subcounty in Bukedea District. Through solar-powered underground water systems, we’ve not only addressed the need for sustainable water access

270 members participated in a four-day transformative training program on gender issues in Butta, Manafwa District. These members were from 9 VSLA community groups.
