500,000 carbon-hungry 'tree soldiers' undergoing training and preparation for imminent deployment in the biggest battle ever faced on Planet Earth..... Or to put it another way.... Yesterday in the community tree nursery in Boré ;-)

Earlier this week in the Borè nursery. Really excited to see the new batch of seedlings peeping up out of the soil. These beauties feed on sunlight like you feed on toast in the morning and every single one will spend years capturing photons and using their embodied stellar energy

Brachesytigia spiciformis seedlings growing well in the nursery. This is a great indigenous variety that is also known as the Bean Pod tree and is the most common species in local natural forest. Local provenance types like this are great for helping wildlife as they've been growing

We were very happy to particpate in the Kenyan National Tree Planting day yesterday in the nearby town of Marafa. Local Government officials and wider community all came together and planted trees supplied by the Bore Community Nursery. The ambitious aim of this country-wide scheme

Seedling distribution underway. Its been raining heavily in Boré for months so the ground is completely saturated - meaning that now is the perfect time to plant trees. You can get a lot of seedlings into one small pick up if you know the right way to do it!
