Protect Amazonian Biodiversity

It’s lupuna season (Ceiba pentandra). The tree sometimes called “the mother of the forest” is decked out in all of her finery. How lucky we are to get to see it.

Amazonian agroforestry ain't just about the trees. Reforestation attracts mobile helpers in the form of swoopers, divers, and gliders. The arrival of the winged ones is a sure sign that our planting systems are designed well enough to properly imitate a forest.

But more than just

The Amazon is full of biodiversity. We see new things every day, some creatures that perhaps no one has yet named.

Friends from the forest remind us of the habitat we create and how vital it is for all life!

The rubber tree, once a driving force of deforestation that ripped through South America. Tied to a human history of resource extraction to the detriment of land and people. We have a few rubber trees at our restoration center, they stand peacefully amongst our agroforestry system
