Plant to Stop Poverty

Plant to Stop Poverty, Tanzanie

Our project helps rural communities adopt agroforestry to combat poverty and the effects of climate change. This approach secures food and income while restoring and protecting forests through tree planting. With experience planting over 1,230,000 trees in different districts, we bring proven expertise to these initiatives.

Description du projet

The first beneficiaries are the countryside isolated villagers who will directly participate in all key activities from planting to tending. The project will directly contribute to uplifting of the rural family health and economies due to availability of clean water. The local community around the forest reserve will also avoid unnecessary conflicts with Forest reserves management due to improved water uses.
A team of five dedicated conservationists will be involved from the beginning of the sessions to mentor, supervise and monitor the planting activities. Successful implementation of the project activities will involve a multi-sectorial approach, which requires a strong commitment, close collaboration and smooth coordination of all stakeholders in the implementation of the project activities. The proposed project “PSP” encourages and demonstrates the essence of collective measures in the fight against poverty and environmental degradation.
Planned activities:
• Community awareness creation and sensitization.
• Raising/ Purchases of the seedling.
• Site preparation.
• Seedlings transportation to the planting sites.
• Loading/ unloading, recounting and assessing the saplings.
• Trees planting.
• Scheduled tending for smooth growth of the planted trees.
• Monitoring and evaluation using suggested software.
