Every tree is made of carbon. Because we measure carbon based on the tree's own species biology, the same methodology applies across every Tree-Nation project. All four certifications and every legacy project run on the same carbon math. What varies is the impact goal, land ownership, and verification approach, not the calculation.
Carbon is calculated for each individual tree from its species biology and climate region, rather than estimated as an average across an area. Every tree in the system carries its own expected CO2 value.
Crediting is capped at 10 years even though trees keep growing for decades. Short crediting periods keep every claim defensible, even when outcomes vary from projections.
No tree is ever credited with more than 500 kg of CO2, regardless of species potential. The hard cap prevents over-crediting from optimistic growth assumptions.
Survival-rate, cull-back, and prudence reductions are baked into the final CO2 figure before anything is credited. Expected failure is paid for upfront, not discovered later.
