Hello, thanks to the site tree-nation we planted many trees in different parts of the world. We bought a house (built in 1953) in 1998, it was located at the outer boarder of Faulquemont/France (5000 inhabitants), we had grass, trees, cows, horses, lots of bees and birds around. Like a village, nature in town. Then a supermarket with a huge parking area was built at the place where the horses had been. A new part of the city (130 houses) was built around our house. Years of noise&dust, scratches in the house and vibrations making our tables move sometimes. The fox who came to visit us every evening during years and who was such a confident wild animal which I respected, did not come any more. But in the subsisting hedges in our garden (1500 m²) there were more and more, hundreds of birds ! This was an enlightning experience. They found a paradise here ! We installed small houses to give them food. Then, we created two water ponds with fishes, they are more than 50 now and every day children stop to watch them, parents "complain" with a smile that they have to change the way to school because children want to count fishes... every day. We planted hedges and trees & animals came. Our rabbits are happy in their house outside, they have excavated large holes to stay inside, they live a good life during 8 or 9 years, much more than veterinaries told us (+/- 5 years) and they are healthy ! Animals give you back 100 times and more what ever you can give them. They are part of our family, as well as the 3 chicken which are living in a large area, the give us wonderful eggs and we take care of them every day. I installed a small solar plant on my own, and it works well, and I use rain water. At the age of 53 I see that I changed my mind and my wife's mind as well. Maybe... my training in buddhist meditation (I follow a 3 years retreat) and associated teachings (I give meditation and relaxation teachings in our association here and, as I studied jungian psychology, I help people with psychological problems) helped me. And it's never loo late ! We continue, please do the same at your level. That's all I hope. And you know what ? I was born close to the French border in Germany, into a French-German family, many of my ancestors on both sides of the border had killed themselves, but then I discovered that our local language was spoken on both sides of border. And... honestly, we all speak the same language, the language of heart & inner mind, because our roots as humans are common :-) Let's do the best for mankind and for our planet.
