Bosques de Agua

Bosques de Agua, Argentina

Our project is focused on restoring Córdoba's high-altitude forests, which are essential to the region's water supply. With only 3% of these forests remaining, they continue to serve as natural reservoirs, providing water to 90% of the population. By replanting native Tabaquillo trees (Polylepis australis), we aim to bring back forests to the mountains again while protecting biodiversity, and secure water resources for future generations.

Planting begins! With the seeds already harvested we start the process of planting tabaquillo. The tabaquillo seeds have a low germination power, that is why the volume we have to harvest and sow is challenging to achieve the seedlings and future forest!

On Earth Day we want to show you what a 20 year old tabaquillo forest looks like!!! This is the type of forest we are creating together, forests with a great capacity to capture moisture, which generates a microclimate that allows the development of a great biodiversity of species.
