Bosques Yungas

AR Argentina

98  Quality Score

Our project aims to restore the Yungas ecosystem, heavily degraded by human activity, by planting native trees to attract biodiversity and rebuild the natural environment. As part of the "Community Program", we are also planting native fruit trees in the understory. This initiative not only supports forest recovery but also provides resources for nearby communities, fostering a sustainable relationship between people and the ecosystem.

To protect nature, we first need to get to know it and learn to value it.

We spent time with the children at the local primary school during an environmental education activity, where we planted chilto trees that they’ll now care for and observe as they grow.

We’re collecting native seeds!!

The fruits and the seeds in these photos come from the jacaranda (Jacaranda mimosifolia), a native tree from the Yungas forests of South America. Jacarandas are known around the world for their purple flowers and graceful canopy.

New Planting site alert!
This site restores the understory of the Tucumán forest. The 500 trees will be planted at low density beneath the existing upper-stratum trees, which provide the shade they need to establish.

Today, Argentina celebrates National Tree Day.
And we choose to celebrate it in the best way we know: by planting trees and restoring the Yungas Forest.
Every tree we plant is one more step toward healthy native forests, full of life and biodiversity.

We have good news: the trees we planted during the last planting season are already starting to sprout!
A sign that winter is beginning to fade and spring is just around the corner.

Today’s children are tomorrow’s adults. Everything we do now is the world they will inherit. That’s why getting them involved early in protecting, restoring, and caring for nature isn’t just something we should do—it’s the best investment we can make in their future.

During the winter, our team prepares everything for the next planting season. Right now, they are filling nursery bags with soil that, in the coming weeks, will each receive a seed. As the days gradually become longer and warmer, the conditions become ideal for germination, marking

Our team carefully tends to and protects the seedlings in the nursery module, keeping them safe from the cold until the next planting season.

As the cold season begins, our team starts one of the most careful tasks of the year: protecting our youngest trees from frost.

One by one, we place protective covers around the most vulnerable trees, giving them the best chance to get through the winter. Once they grow stronger,

One more camera in the forest!! We continue monitoring biodiversity to learn which species inhabit our territory and how they use this landscape under restoration.
This information is key to measuring the impact of our restoration efforts and guiding future conservation actions.

19 Jun 2026

We have started a new tree monitoring campaign. By measuring our trees regularly, we can track how they are growing and developing over time. This information helps us understand the progress of our restoration work and the health of the forest.
