Our project restores key areas like old service roads and weedy reserves to increase habitat for wildlife such as Southern Cassowaries and Bennetts Tree-kangaroos. We select sites based on access, community input, and their potential for creating wildlife corridors. Our goal is to plant 500,000 indigenous trees by 2030, with nearly 20,000 already planted since 2018 to help regenerate the Daintree Rainforest.

A recent community planting on the Bells Road project, with volunteers planting another 1,000 trees. We will continue planting in the rainforests of the wet tropics of far north Queensland with Daintree Life & Tree-nation.

As we progress with the planting of 6200 trees in stage 1 (zone A) of the Bells Road planting project, we have just liaised with the landowners to map out the next stage, which will be stage 2 (zone B). As we near completion of stage 1, the landowners will start land preparation

A handful of promise. These are just some of the seeds collected yesterday by Rainforest Rescue seed collector, Angela in our garden. These are the papery wind-dispersed seeds of Flindersia bourjotiana (the Queensland Silver Ash). This majestic tree which grows to 35 metres, develops

Great article about us by Mark on the Rainforest Rescue website. We are the first organisation in the area to purchase trees from their huge new nursery at Diwan in the Daintree. 6200 trees ordered for stage one of the Bells Road project, with 2400 already planted. Great staff and

Some of the first 2000 trees planted on the Bells Road Project. These have been planted over the last 7 weeks. Many of these trees have been funded by our supporters on Tree-nation - thank you for your ongoing support in our work.

When clearing weedy land to plant forest, you must always be careful not to assume that all groundcover are weeds. Here is a good example. When looking at the Bells Road planting project, this herbaceous plant is everywhere in the wettest areas. It is a native called Wooly Frogmouth

Over from Western Australia, Dean & Gail - friends of the landowners of the Bells Road project - helped plant another 200 trees in stage one. Thanks guys and grow little trees :)

For a Monday splash of colour, here is a Powderpuff lillypilly (Syzygium wilsonii) taken by Connie in our rainforest garden at the weekend. These plants, which grow as shrubs to small trees, are endemic from Ingham to Cooktown in tropical north Queensland and make great additions

Yesterday, we held our first community planting on the new Bells Road project. 1000 trees were planted in 1 hour 42 minutes with 17 volunteers. Huge thanks to all of you that gave up your Sunday morning to make a positive difference. A big shout-out and thanks to Tree-Nation supporters

We are very excited to have started the Bells Road, Newell project of 30,000 trees. Here is a quick video of a pilot planting of the first 300 trees planted. All are funded by generous support from our Tree-nation supporters.

Winding back a couple of days. Here is a video still of landowners, Gordon & Jody (and Rufus the dog) planting the very first two trees of 33,000 on the Daintree Life Bells Road, Newell project. Only 32,998 to go. Such nice people to work with. These trees are funded by Tree-nation
