We are a nonprofit organization that promotes environmental education
through the planting of native mini-forests by students in public schools in Brazil, bringing the urgency of ecosystem regeneration and climate change mitigation to the new generations.
Through project-based pedagogy, we are taking ecological restoration into schools, so that these communities become aware of and feel empowered to act on climate change, conservation and regeneration of biodiversity and water security, connecting our programs directly with the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration (2021-2030).
For that, we are working on two fronts...
1. the online training of public school teachers, so that they develop, with their students, environmental education projects related to reforestation and mitigation of climate change and...
2. ....the activities directly related to the planting of the mini-forests in schools, which are coordinated by our team with students from 2 to 14 years old, respecting covid-19 protocols.
These spaces become outdoor classrooms, create corridors of biodiversity, absorb carbon and reduce the temperature in the regions where they are located, increasing the well-being of people and other living beings in that entire community.
In 2020, our organization was selected as one of 10 civil society organizations to implement the UN Sustainable Development Goals in Brazil. The award was organized under the Civil Society Working Group for the 2030 Agenda, coordinated by the Democracy and Sustainability Institute (IDS) with funding from the European Union.
And in 2021, we were recognized as an "Environmental Entity" by the Government of the State of São Paulo.
